Let’s make our vision a reality Our bid for our new Church of England co-educational primary school in the Stockton-on-Tees area is expected to be submitted to the Department for Education in the spring 2018.
St Thomas’ Church of England Academy plans to open with two Reception classes (60 places), subject to demand, and admit the same number of Reception pupils each year thereafter, reaching full capacity of 420 pupils. The school will operate an admissions policy in accordance with the School Admissions Code and will welcome all children of all faiths and none.
Co-educational, non-selective and free to attend, St Thomas’ Church of England Academy is being proposed by 1Excellence Multi Academy Trust and will offer a broad and balanced curriculum with a strong focus on nurturing the potential of each child, delivering progress and achievement for all pupils.
The new school will work closely with St Mark’s Elm Tree within the same Trust, and will deliver high quality provision and leadership from the outset supported by the Diocese.
The school with offer excellent pastoral support within a caring high-expectation ethos and an emphasis on moral values and it will be a family friendly school with breakfast club and after school provision offering a wide range of enrichment activities.
We need to demonstrate support from the local community to make this happen.
